My Favorites from 2013

I debated whether to have a year-end recap of my favorite posts from this year.  It seemed like a cheap ploy to get away with not actually coming up with new content.  And you know I NEVER do shit like that.  Snicker.

But then I thought – Time, People, and other publishers get to put together year-end lists.  And I kick those hacks’ asses up and down the interwebz.  So why shouldn’t I be able to do it?

Oh yeah, their lists are about world events and important people, not their own articles.

Screw it…

My Favorite Posts About Food

My post about elotes, because I’ve made this several times and love it more and more.

My scallops & braised pork belly recipe, because it was one of the best things I’ve ever come up with.

Just a reminder – Check out my Recipes Index to the left.  Or click here.  It’s even organized.  Somewhat.

Wine and Other Assorted Libations

This post, where I give excuses valid reasons for not writing about wine that often.  I also re-establish that I’m a major wine pimp.  Or just a major wino.

Probably the best wine I had all year was the 1979 Spring Mountain Cabernet at Boom Boom’s fundraiser.

And while this is only tangentially about drinking, I had a ton of fun writing a guest post for my buddy, The Winegetter.

Potpourri

My post about pro wrestlers and presidents was completely random and had absolutely nothing to do with food or wine. But it brought back great memories.

And that randomness led to my griping about how other men have ruined shopping for me .

Although it was a very painful, introspective experience, my hipster confession was definitely a life-changer.

While that was a life-changer, The Sicilian’s question of “What Three Things aare Always in Your Refrigerator?” was a game-changer.
